This disclaimer governs the limitations of doclish liability in connection with document loss, negligence, and document recovery. By using the doclish platform, you acknowledge and accept the terms set out below.

doclish takes every reasonable technical and operational measure to protect your documents and data. This disclaimer does not diminish that commitment — it defines the boundaries of our legal responsibility where circumstances are beyond our control.

doclish shall not be held liable for the loss of documents, whether partial or complete, arising from circumstances including but not limited to:

• Infrastructure failure beyond doclish's direct control, including data center outages, natural disasters, or force majeure events.
• Unauthorized access resulting from a user's failure to secure their account credentials.
• Accidental deletion initiated by an authorized user within your organization.
• File format corruption existing in a document prior to upload.
• Third-party service outages (Cloudflare, Convex, etc.) that interrupt storage or retrieval.

We maintain redundant infrastructure, automated backups, and industry-standard data durability practices to prevent document loss. We take this commitment seriously and will make every reasonable effort to recover data in the event of a platform-side failure.

doclish shall not be held responsible for losses, damages, or claims arising from negligence, except where such negligence constitutes gross negligence or willful misconduct on the part of doclish and its employees.

This limitation applies to, but is not limited to:

• Errors or omissions in document metadata as entered by the user.
• Misuse of the platform resulting in unauthorized document disclosure.
• Third-party services that integrate with or extend the doclish platform.
• Decisions made by users or their organizations based on document records in doclish.

We hold our platform and team to high standards of care. Our engineering practices, security protocols, and audit infrastructure are designed to minimize the likelihood of negligence-related incidents.

doclish shall not be held responsible for the recovery of documents that have been lost, deleted, or corrupted, where such loss falls outside of a platform-side failure for which doclish is directly responsible.

In practical terms:

• Documents deleted by an authorized user or organization administrator cannot be guaranteed to be recoverable.
• doclish does not offer a document restoration service as a standard feature.
• In the event of a platform-side storage failure, doclish will make best-effort attempts to restore data from redundant copies and backups.
• Users are encouraged to maintain their own secure copies of critical documents in addition to doclish-registered versions.

Where a platform-side failure results in document loss, doclish commits to investigating the incident promptly, communicating transparently with affected customers, and making every reasonable effort toward recovery.

These limitations exist because no platform can guarantee zero risk under all circumstances — and we believe it is better to be honest about that than to overstate our guarantees.

What we can promise:

• We apply SHA-256 cryptographic integrity to every registered document, making tampering immediately detectable.
• We store files on Cloudflare R2 with enterprise-grade redundancy and AES-256 encryption at rest.
• We maintain an immutable audit log of every action taken on your documents.
• We respond to platform incidents with urgency, transparency, and a genuine commitment to resolution.
• We will always do our best to prevent document loss, negligence-related failures, and unrecoverable data situations.
